My Wall Art
George Arthur Lareau is an internationally collected photographic artist. He began exhibiting his work at the University of Illinois with an exhibit of rock bands (he was REO Speedwagon’s first photographer).
He commanded the advertising and public relations market in downstate Illinois for many years, serving an impressive list of client companies. He was ranked among the world’s top 1000 media photographers and is a past-president of ASMP, American Society of Media Photographers, Chicago Chapter(1978-79).
He taught many photography workshops and authored The Composition Course, Exercises in Visual Reorientation. He was editor-publisher of "Freelance Photographer" magazine.
In addition to his photographic artistry, Lareau is also a surviving Boston beatnik poet and author of The Game Is Played on a Delicate Foundation. There is substantial cross-pollination between his poetry and his artistic photography.
He is also famous on the web as Sufi George, a new paradigm metaphysician teaching consciousness management. As such, he is author of three books and numerous articles. He also created a new science-based religion, Church of the New Age Spiritual Revolution of America, registered in Arizona, for which he wrote Three Peaks, a Model for Understanding Truth.
He has lived and taught in Tokyo (two years) and Beijing (six years), and completed a three-week audio-visual assignment featuring a guru in Delhi.
He is a native of Massachusetts, born of French-Canadian parents. He is now semi-retired, working primarily as a photographic artist in Tucson, Arizona. His specialty is vivid poster-size wall art. He is also active on the web as Sufi George.
